Status Open-source project

Challenge

Mechanical watch drift is interesting to track over time, but manual measurement is inconvenient and error-prone. The app turns the measurement into a fast mobile workflow without specialized hardware.

Solution

Watch Drift uses CameraX to capture the watch dial, a precise measurement timestamp and the OpenClaw AI skill to read the seconds hand from the sub-dial. The result is the calculated drift in seconds and a path toward tracking changes over time.

Outcome

  • Fast measurement directly from a phone without manually recording hand position.
  • Practical example of connecting mobile UI, camera and AI image reading.
  • A project ready for further expansion with history and trend visualization.
